Ringing in Salvation Army Donations

The Salvation Army’s kettle campaign raises up to 70 percent of the Salvation Army’s total annual income to fund shelters, meal programs, after-school programs, emergency assistance and Christmas toy and gift drives in keeping with the spirit of the season.

John R. Wood Properties’ staff members and agents are volunteering their time as Salvation Army bell-ringers, Saturday, December 15, 2017, at the Neapolitan Publix located on 1981 Tamiami Trail North from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Once again, agents and staff piled unwrapped gifts under the corporate Christmas tree located at the Galleria, 9130 Corsea Del Fontana Way, in Naples.  The program called, Salvation Army Angels, provides children and seniors in need with items on their wish list, so they experience the “miracle” of the holidays.

The company’s long-standing tradition of philanthropy in the Southwest Florida community started with its Founder, John R. Wood. Mr. Wood served on dozens of boards and campaigns and continues to volunteer today. Because of his extensive involvement in charitable organizations, he received honors such as the Naples Daily News Citizen of the Year, the Hodges University Humanitarian of the Year, and as a Laureate for the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame.
