A Punta Gorda resident for the past eight years, Melissa has a genuine appreciation for the area’s small-town charm, waterfront lifestyle, and welcoming sense of community. Originally from Kentucky and most recently from Cumming, Georgia, Melissa spent many years relocating across the country as part of a military family. Those experiences shaped both her perspective and her approach to real estate. She understands what it is like to make major decisions from a distance, search for a home sight-unseen, and depend on a real estate professional for honesty, clarity, and consistent communication. Today, Melissa brings that firsthand understanding to every client relationship. She listens carefully, plans proactively, and works to remain two steps ahead throughout the buying or selling process. Melissa holds a B.A. in Psychology, giving her valuable insight into how people make decisions and what matters most to them during an important life transition. Combined with 19 years of real estate experience and her GRI and ABR designations, her background allows her to offer a well-rounded approach that blends skilled negotiation, sound guidance, and a warm, approachable manner—often described as “Southern hospitality at its best.” Specializing in Babcock Ranch, Punta Gorda, and the surrounding Southwest Florida communities, Melissa has helped families, retirees, second-home buyers, and relocating clients find homes that complement the lifestyles they envision. Whether she is guiding a first-time buyer, marketing a distinctive property, or assisting with a cross-country move, Melissa remains focused on communication, practical solutions, and personalized service. One of Melissa’s most meaningful career experiences came when she helped a blended family purchase the home in which they planned to be married. The family later invited her to their wedding—a heartfelt reminder of the lasting relationships that can grow when trust and genuine care lead the way. Melissa and her husband of 39 years, a U.S. Army veteran, have three daughters, eight grandchildren, and a spirited dachshund named Otis. When she is not helping clients, Melissa enjoys bicycling, golfing, traveling to new destinations—and returning to favorite ones—and spending time with her growing family. Crystal River is among her favorite Gulf Coast destinations, and she especially appreciates the remarkable variety of Southwest Florida’s natural beauty, from sparkling Gulf waters and peaceful inland wetlands to beautiful natural springs.  For Melissa, real estate is about far more than buying or selling a property. It is about listening to people’s stories, understanding the life they hope to create, and helping them find the place that truly feels like home.
