Small businesses are the cornerstones of our community. Unfortunately, the current events affecting our world are having a negative impact on these family-owned companies. Thankfully, there are a variety of ways we can come together and still support these stores while social distancing. Here are six ways our REALTORS® believe we can all support the small businesses on the Paradise Coast.
- Opt for Delivery
With the kids off of school and working remotely increasing in many households, the last thing adults want to do is worry about breakfast, lunch, and dinner plans. While many restaurants are either limiting or restricting dine-in eating, your favorite local grub is still available via delivery service. Whether you're grabbing fresh fish from Grouper & Chips, ordering a pizza from Valentino's Pizza and Hoagies, or diving into sushi and noodles delivered from Golden Leaf Restaurant, meals at home are just a phone call away. - Reschedule, Don't Cancel
Do you have services booked through a local business that you might not be able to use with the current restrictions? Please rethink before you cancel them. From beauty salons and pet groomers to housecleaners and repair technicians, these small businesses will be suffering greatly while social distancing is encouraged. Instead of outright canceling these services, many of these businesses will accommodate this unique situation and be happy to reschedule your appointment. This ensures that you will still retain the services you require on a later date and our community still retains your purchase. - Shop & Share Online
These days, nearly every brick and mortar establishment has an accompanying website where they sell at least a portion of their inventory. Companies like Amazon have made it effortless to get products right to our doorsteps, but don't forget that they're not the only provider. Countless shops like Southern Tide and The Old Naples Surf Shop will be happy to ship your purchase directly to your front door, allowing you to shop downtown Naples, Fifth Avenue South, and Waterside Shops without ever leaving home. When you find special deals like free shipping or in-store pickup options, be sure to share this helpful information with your friends on social media. - Practice Safe Habits
How can you support our local businesses? You can start by supporting your own health. Practice safe habits such as washing your hands and using hand sanitizer when you're out. If you or someone in your household is sick, refrain from leaving the house to prevent the spread of germs. - Say Thank You
Did you know that many area businesses are doing their best to help the community in any way possible? For example, Artisan Eatery and Spice Club Indian Grill are each offering free meals for children which can be picked up with no purchase necessary. Mr. Tom's Spirits and List Distillery is giving away free hand sanitizer to those who bring in their own bottles. Our community is coming together to help one another out, the least we can do is thank them for their service by not only making purchases from them, but by also extending our patience to all employees who are working hard to keep Naples running smoothly and safely. - Reach Out to the Community for Advice
If you're unsure of which small businesses are closed and which are offering special perks like delivery or in-store pickup, reach out to the community. We're all in this together and sharing helpful information with our neighbors is a great way to keep everyone informed and safe while supporting our wonderful Naples community.
Although these trying times may seem uncertain, rest assured that our everyday lives will return to normal soon enough. If you're still hoping to browse Naples homes for sale, we can help!
