Nature Trails in SWFL

As our real estate agents and so many satisfied residents can attest, Southwest Florida is a wonderful place to call home if you love to explore nature. Whether your ideal day spent outdoors features toes in the sand, oars in the water, or a leisurely walk along quiet, scenic nature trails, it's easy to find your happy place without traveling far from home. Get to know some of the best local trails you can enjoy this summer in SWFL with our guide.

  1. Gordon River Greenway – 1596 Golden Gate Pkwy, Naples, FL 34102
The Gordon River Greenway, located next to the Naples Municipal Airport, is one of many scenic nature trails that you can enjoy close to Naples homes for sale. This trail offers a wide variety of accommodations, including a two-mile paved trail, boat/kayak launch, picnic shelters, and educational signs that teach you about the many types of local wildlife that you may encounter while visiting. The 12-foot wide trail can handle a large number of visitors, and the whole area is pet-friendly.

  2. Collier-Seminole State Park – 20200 US 41 E, East Naples, FL 34114
Collier-Seminole State Park is located in one of the world's largest mangrove swamps, making it the perfect place to explore one of Florida's oldest ecosystems. The park covers more than 7,200 acres and features multiple trails for you to explore. It's an excellent place to spot wildlife, including some endangered species. Trails at the park are open to hikers, bikers, walkers, and nature explorers. A variety of local waterways connect to Collier-Seminole State Park, with canoe/kayak rentals and a boat launch making it easy to explore the park by water.

  3. Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park – 11135 Gulf Shore Dr., Naples, FL 34108
Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is a little slice of beachfront paradise in Naples, with trails, beaches, and fishing spots waiting for your enjoyment. The main walking trail here is less than a mile long, but don't let the length fool you. The trail features beautiful views at every step and is perfect when you're in the mood for a shorter stroll. When you're done with your walk, make a stop at the observation tower for some amazing, elevated views of the Gulf of Mexico.

  4. Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary – 375 Sanctuary Rd., Naples, FL 34120
The Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is located in a beautiful area of preserved wilderness, with a 2.5-mile trail and so much more to explore. Throughout the sanctuary, you'll find a diverse selection of birds and SWFL wildlife. Much of the trail runs along a boardwalk, which takes you through many of the ecosystems which define the area's natural habitats. If you want to learn more about local wildlife or ecosystems, be sure to stop at the Blair Audubon Center located on-site.
