This museum delves deep into the region's history that makes up Collier County today, starting with the earliest residents who inhabited the area more than 10,000 years ago. Exhibits here showcase the journey of the Seminole people who first inhabited this area and the challenges faced by the earliest settlers of Collier County.

  • Museum of the Everglades – 105 W. Broadway Ave., Everglades City, FL 34139
For stories focused on the more recent history and development of Collier County, try a visit to the Museum of the Everglades. This museum traces the development of the area from the 1920s to the present day and is housed in a gorgeous building that itself is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Learn more about the creation of the Tamiami Trail, the history of the pioneers who settled the area, and the community that became the first County seat of Collier County.

  • Marco Island Historical Museum – 180 S. Heathwood Dr., Marco Island, FL 34145
Interested in learning more about a history that has helped make Marco Island homes for sale some of the most popular in the area? The Marco Island Historical Museum tells the story of one of Florida's most scenic communities and highlights some of the remarkable archaeological discoveries that have been made in the area. Explore a recreated Calusa village, and learn more about the area's biggest archaeological discovery, the Key Marco Cat.

  • Immokalee Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch – 1215 Roberts Ave. W., Immokalee, FL 34142
South Florida was one of America's last true frontiers, and the Immokalee Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch sheds more light on some of the first settlers who built communities here. The museum is housed on the historic Roberts Ranch, where a local farming family helped to establish the region's cattle industry in the early 1900s, right next to the Everglades and the Big Cypress Swamp.

  • Naples Depot Museum – 1051 5th Ave. S., Naples, FL 34102
The newest museum in Collier County, the Naples Depot Museum, is located in a historic train depot with its own unique history. After serving as a military base for USO shows during WWII, the train depot was a hub of travel for both passengers and freight during the mid-1900s. It is now home to a museum that showcases how railroads and other forms of travel helped open the region to settlers, many of whom helped develop Collier County communities into the places that we love so much in the present day.
